Curtis McHale wrote some time back on making your task manager the default, but not filling it with wishlist items. I say it’s okay to collect wishlist items in your task manager, but not to leave them there. It’s okay to get things down while you think of them and put them where they belong later.
I’d rather batch-process things in my task manager inbox than forget the thing while trying to remember where they belong and navigate to that spot. Anyway, I can just tag wishlist items with @5 and not bother about moving them from my task manager.
Curtis also talks about how important it is to have tasks in your calendar, something that Carl Pullein (whose systems work well for me) says you should never do. Interesting. I agree with the principles behind their advice.
